Beyond Books: The Library as a Lifeline for Older Adults
As a volunteer for the public library, intern for the City of Seattle’s Aging and Disability Services, and student studying health and the built environment, I was curious about the relationship between older adults, social isolation, and the public library. Thus, for my senior capstone in the Community, Environment, and Planning program, I chose to explore the following question:
What is the role of the Seattle Public Library in mitigating loneliness and social isolation among older adult patrons?
